Peer Resource Group
The Peer Resource Group operates on the Share Circle Model:
Sharing Circles are a unique small-group discussion process in which participants (including the leader) share their feelings, experiences, and insights in response to specific, assigned topics. Share Circles are loosely structured, and participants are expected to adhere to rules that promote the goals of the process while assuring cooperation, effective communication, trust, and confidentiality. Only the individual with the talking stick can speak and uniquely, feedback or comments are not allowed. The idea is to share what we are currently experiencing in our individuals lives in confidence. In the LGBTQ+ community we sometimes deal with our issues silently. The Peer Resource Group allows us to talk about our issues and normalize them amongst our LGBTQ+ peers.
